Dear Masters Hockey Friends,

First of all, I would like to thank WMH officials and Masters Hockey officials of national associations from across the world for your support for the WMH World Cup in Tokyo in 2022.

As you are aware, all WMH events to be held in 2020 and 2021 were postponed. Though the situation of COVID19 pandemic is still unclear, we have been continuing our efforts to hold this event as scheduled in October 2022. I would like to take this opportunity to send my greetings to you all.

Masters Hockey brings us meaningful chances for enriching our life, making new friendships and connecting world societies. I am convinced that the WMH World Cup in Tokyo in 2022 will bring us all a great opportunity to revive our old connections and create new friendships among Masters Hockey players around the world.

We are very excited that WMH decided to create a new division for the over-80 age group for the first time in the World Masters Hockey history. This event in the metropolitan area of Tokyo will show to many people how worldwide senior people are enjoying this sport as their life-long pastime. With life expectancy reaching over 100 years, particularly here in Japan, I am sure that this event will impress other senior sports world as well as local societies.

We have secured 3 pitches for this event, 2 of the 2020 Olympic hockey pitches at Oi Hockey Stadium,
Field and 1 at Komazawa Olympic Park – the site of previous Olympic Hockey event held in 1964 – which has been remodeled and upgraded to meet current pitch standards.

At the hockey venues, we will be operating a high level of safety standards to prevent COVID19 infection. We are aiming to manage the event in a safe and worry-free state. We would appreciate your understanding and cooperation with the COVID19 safety measures that will be in place.

We are looking forward to the participation of teams, officials, players, family members and friends at the WMH World Cup in Tokyo in 2022.

See you there!
With best wishes
